Get treated like Gente Giusti with first dibs on tickets, the best seats in the house
and juicy sconti before anyone else hears a word. (Yes, even before cousin Nino finds out.)
At the heart of every migrant family lies a beautiful contradiction: the fierce love that binds us
together and the tender battles that pull us apart.
The Italian Divorce celebrates the extraordinary ordinary.
Those Sunday lunches that stretch for hours, the arguments that somehow end in embraces, and the unspoken sacrifici that built new lives on foreign soil.
We honour an entire generation who carried their homeland in their hearts while planting roots in the Australian dirt. Their children, caught between two worlds, navigating the delicate dance of cultural inheritance and personal independence.
Sometimes we get lost in petty battles, fighting over trivial matters while forgetting what truly matters-until life reminds us that famiglia, flawed as it is, remains our anchor.
This is their story - our story, told with the laughter and tears that make us human.
Through comedy and compassion, we explore the eternal struggle between holding on and letting go, between tradition and transformation. Because sometimes the answers we desperately seek beyond our family's walls are already waiting for us at the table where we first learned what real love looks like.
The Italian Divorce is a tribute to la famiglia.
Messy, dramatic, and sometimes impossible. Because no matter how hard we fight, the legacy of family sticks like Sunday sugo on a white shirt.
